I am almost in a state of disbelief at the responses people have received from 505 Games Technical Support. To insinuate that what is blatantly a flaw is in some way purposely designed into the programming is quite frankly preposterous, and I personally find incredibly insulting.
Why SEV2admin appears to be annoyingly evasive about his or her identity is confusing, as it does nothing to reassure me (or countless other consumers, I'm sure) that this matter is being taken seriously. It gives the impression that 505 Games are a company that are happy to take our money in the short term, with a clear lack of understanding of their customer base.
For those that keep their copies, I do hope that the save game issue is fixed. I'll be returning mine for a refund. Purely due to the attitude of 505 Games, I will not be advising anyone to make a purchase of this game on any platform, and would also advise avoidance of any further releases by this games company.
Public apology in the mainstream gaming magazines and online community for their error would be a way forward. If you make a mistake, just admit it and try to fix it instead of basically bullshi**ing. If nothing else, at least you may earn some respect from your customers instead of resentment...
I totally agree! "A state of disbelief” is a perfect way to put it! This does seem a little "hard to miss" for it to be such a basic function of any game. Have you ever played ANY game that didn’t save your progress thru each level? NOPE! I will admit that I also feel lied to and almost like they stole my money. How could you not know about an issue like this? And if you do know about an issue like this, you still release the game so you can make money? Seems like a bait and switch almost... I’m not trying to bash them by any means. I’m just stating how I feel.
I still have a hard time understanding why it’s taking so long for them to fix the issue. I don't really care about their lame automated responses as to why this is happening, and they seem WAY TOO EVASIVE on the issue! I personally would like some real answers, not from some "Tech Support" person but from the president/CEO of 505 and Rebellion. We need to know why this happened! Accident, oversight, or purposely! It doesn't matter, just tell us the truth. Also, are we going to see a fix and how long is it going to take? I think all PS3 owners should be given some kind of apology in a formal way. I also feel that since we are unable to play the game (as I believe it was intended) the way Xbox and PC owners are, then we should be given some kind of compensation. Especially for having to wait (almost 2 weeks now) without any kind of formal acknowledgement of the issue and a plan of action to amend the situation! We paid the same amount for the same product just as owners of other platforms, yet we are not able to enjoy it in the way they do. How is that right? How is that fair? Oh wait... I forgot, they already have my money, so why rush to make it right?
The saddest part is that this game really had such fantastic potential! I really like most of the game play, but sometimes I don’t have 3-4 hours to sit and play thru a complete mission! I have to give them credit for some of the things that they got right, like graphics, story line (what I got thru), visuals and realistic scenery. There are a few things that could have been improved upon but what game is perfect? Any game could use improvement in some way. The game breaker in this case is simply the autosave issue. All we can hope for is a fix, and soon!
