Hello! Been playing game for couple of days and after clearing all enemies from plaza on the 4th mission, and killing the last 2 that rush out of library, can't seem to trigger the last scene to stop the execution.

Seen videos of area where scene is triggered from and actually got to shot the last wine bottle from there; but can't get the execution scene to trigger. This happened at Marksman level and thought it was a temporary bug. Tried the mission again on Elite Level with same problem; to trigger the execution scene after clearing area and reaching library top level.

I'm playing on a slim XBox 360 with all updates. The game disc was pre-ordered and bought at Game Stop (SKU 8 1287201146 2). Would appreciate any help, not only can't I finish this mission but whole game advance from here is grid-locked. Thank you!

Update 1.

Reported to SEV2 support and got an automated ticket number: 2012050810000097. Also called 505 Games in California yesterday and the support telephone number in XBox 360 manual (818)540-3000) was disconnected or unavailable. Forwarded report information to their email address too (support@505games.com).

Local retailer is willing to replace my game disk but have that as a last option. Replacing disk and reinstalling game might not fix problem if it's not an install issue. Also, doing so might mean losing the DLC mission "Kill Hitler" if it uninstalls with game.

Hope someone from 505 contacts me soon with a solution. Thank you!

If your playing on the 360, a replacement disc won't result in a loss of the 'Kill Hitler' DLC as its tied to your Xbox Live account. Neither will deleting the actual content itself, as it will be recorded in your purchase history and can be re-downloaded at any time.

Also, the install to Hard Drive feature isn't necessary to play the game, its an optional feature that can help speed up loading times & reduce lag as the game is, as name suggests, stored on the Hard Drive. The disc just sits in the tray as verification you've actually purchased the game.

Strange issue though, perhaps you've been unlucky enough to get a dodgy copy. I'm playing on the 360 & haven't experienced any major bugs or crashes...

Hmmm. This is not a common problem so don't know what to suggest. It certainly isn't a bug as it's the first time I've heard of it.

Once this area is cleared out, you need to move to the window top right of the room on right side of building. From here you can overlook the firing range where the cutscene will trigger. At this point you're expected to save the contact and protect him.

Would also be worth playing through to this section on a friends X360, to remove the chance of this being a streaming issue on your kit.

Thanks,
Steve

Thanks for response Skinner! Just got contacted by Michael from 505. He asked some questions and I just responded to them. I'm glad to know you are playing on 360 with no problems.

Did you also downloaded and installed the DLC mission? Is it available on the mission list or did you had to clear whole game for it to show up? I thought those codes were good for 1 use only; how can you re-download mission?

Will wait for 505 response and then delete and re-install game from disk. If it does not fix problem plan to replace disk at Game Stop and retry again.

Easiest way to access your purchase history would be log into your account on www.xbox.com using the e-mail address linked to your XBL account when you created it. From there select 'your account' & 'purchase history' and it should appear. I've just done this myself & it appears as 'Assassinate the Furher', no harm in checking before you delete any content.

As for playing it, you can access it from the moment the download is complete. In the single player menu, select 'Challenges' and scroll through to the DLC. The two downloadable rifles included (SVT40 & Kar 98K) can be used on any mission via the loadout selection menu.

Might be an idea to re-install to your Xbox Hard Drive, or try without using that feature at all. The install could have been corrupted somehow, especially if it was interrupted.

If the problem persists, I'd take up the retailer on that replacement disc offer whilst it still stands ThumpUp

Thanks for response SteveHart! I moved to that area and shot the wine bottle on ruins near ground level from there, but cut scene did not trigger. Will try to delete game from HD and play from disc to see if problem is related to saving process. If fixed then can try and reload later.

Thanks for all your help Skinner! Confirmed DLC downloaded OK and is listed in my account's purchase history. Deleted game from HD and re-installed successfully. Played mission from beginning and after killing all ground troops and 4 snipers (one in library, 1 in building across it, and 2 in farthest building) the execution scene did not trigger. Every enemy is dead, accessible buildings are empty, and got 2 save points during gameplay. Confirmed I'm at the right place from watching mission walkthrough online.

Plan to go to Game Spot tomorrow morning and trade disk for another one. Hope that works although can't figure out what could be wrong with my disk... does not make sense. Thanks again for your valuable input!

Update 2.

Michael from 505 Console Support contacted me again and recommended to clear the XBox 360 game system cache and try again. Followed his instructions and cleared my console cache. Also delete game from HD and played a new game from disk.

Used easy level to complete faster and encountered the same problem triggering the execution cut scene after killing all enemies and standing in front of wall hole on far rear corner of libraries' top floor.

Same game details as before, this time game only saved once as I entered the 1st building from the back door in alley (part where you can shoot and detonate a fuel can to kill an enemy). Again got all ground troops and 4 snipers; also searched around for any missing enemies but only found the last 2 golden bars in mission.

I'm starting to feel frustrated by this situation as it has no logic. Since I do not have another console available to check my game disc; will go this afternoon to Game Stop and take them on their offer to replace disc. Praying and crossing fingers it will solve my problem.

No problem Mentat ThumpUp
It sounds like a really odd problem to be having Confused I think getting that replacement would be a wise move, perhaps you were unlucky enough to get a bad disc...

Hope you get it sorted!

Success BigGrin !

Traded game disk at Game Spot yesterday and played mission from new disk on the Marksman level. Noted game play was different and now got confirmation Plaza was cleared even before taking out all of the snipers. Also, as I went into library it did another save and added a guide point to the library wall hole where cut scene triggers from. When I got there cutscene triggered and could play the rest of game until mission ended. Now just need to complete mission at Elite level.

This is the first time an XBox 360 game disc has malfunctioned on me, but guess it does happens. Thank you, the forum, and Michael D. from 505 Games Technical Support for your ideas and comments helping me figure this out. Mod's can close this thread now. Have a nice weekend, regards, Mentat.
