I am honestly disappointed with this game, it's absolutely nothing like the last, classic Sniper Elite game.

My main gripe is with the custom difficulty settings, they seriously god damn suck. Only 3 things to change? Everything's organised into pre-set options? What absolute berk thought of that? I thought that the demo might've been like that because it was just a demo, but in all honesty, the demo basically means buying the game is unnecessary.

I want to be able to play through the game with the bullet physics on the most realistic settings, the game destroying red dot thing dead and gone, but I'd still like the binocs to give range, rank and weapon details because that way I can adjust my aim to hit first time using the mil-dot system on the optic, instead of crappily cheating with that stupid aim assistance thing.

As it stands, if I want to know the target range, I have to have the crappy red dot aiming thing switched on as well, meaning I don't need to know the range because the red dot shows me where to aim anyway... What's the point in having the bullet physics switched on, if there's a red dot to aim with? You might as well have no bullet physics at all and just aim using the crosshairs...

On the last game there were a whole host of things you could change, grenade blast radius, empty lung time limit, you could even choose whether you wanted the binocs to equip immediately, or take a while, you could even turn off the bullet camera, I think there ought to be at least the option to turn the frequency of the cinematic shots up or down. So it only happens on like, 30% of all your one shot kills, instead of every single god damn one, it's annoying after a while, I want to view the destruction from down the scope.

In short, on the last game they were more options in the difficulty settings and all the choices were between realism, or arcade fun.

I play for realism. This only really gives me the chance to play for arcade-type fun. This game as it stands doesn't cater to me as well as it could with just a few more options and it's incredibly frustrating after the last game was so perfect.

Anyone else agree, or understand my point?

Hmm, I get your point, and I HAVE to say that the only thing I'M dissapointed in is the binoculars. I want to play the game on the hardest difficulty, but I also want to see the distance to snipers (especially) and other >IMPORTANT< enemies. And on the 'normal' difficulty there is the red freaking spot that you talked about, and I hate it! I think that on the hardest difficulty binoculars should show ONLY distance and do NOTHING else. But I wont let it ruin the game for me. I haven't played the first game so don't judge me as a noob.
